The operators we work with
- A valid Air Operator Certificate issued by the civil aviation authority of the country of registration.
- Current passenger and third-party liability insurance.
- Crews type-rated and current on their proficiency checks.
- BARS or IOSA audit for mining and institutional flights.
What we check for every flight
- The length, surface and condition of the arrival runway, for secondary airfields and mine airstrips.
- Weather and season: in the dry season, the harmattan can sharply reduce visibility with airborne dust.
- The security situation at the destination and, where needed, war-risk insurance cover.
- Overflight and landing permits for each country involved.
- Fuel availability at planned stops.
Our role as a broker
Harmattan Air Charter acts as a charter broker. We are not an aircraft operator and do not have operational control of the aircraft. Every flight is operated by a carrier holding a valid Air Operator Certificate, which keeps operational control of the flight.
The charter agreement names the operator, the aircraft registration and the cancellation terms. You always know who operates your flight.
